'Moncur' is Anwyn's family name, and also a variation of 'My Heart' in French. It seems a fitting name for such a wonderful instrument!  It has an ample, beautiful voice suitable for solo performance, vocal accompaniment, or jamming with other musicians. With it's beautiful decorations, rich tone, and ease of playability, it's a great fit for any musical ambitions!

QUESTION:    What's the difference between the "Moncur" and the Aquitaine model'? (besides how it looks). Why the price difference?
 
ANSWER: The 'Moncur' comes with an extra drone string, beautiful artwork included, and a different headstock & tuners.  If you want an 'Aquitaine' with these extra features, we can do that! The price would then be the same as the 'Moncur' ($2,095.00).  
 
QUESTION:   Is there a difference in tone?
 
ANSWER:   The shape of the Moncur and the additional resonating area of the soundbox make for a warmer bass  & lower midrange response.
